On that note, here is one of my favorite albums by a band started by a dude you probably know from a band called Weezer, named Matt Sharp. He started the Rentals back in 1995 right around the time Weezer was riding their wave of college fame down the drain and Pinkerton came out shortly after and blah blah blah. But all the while, Matt Sharp and Patrick Wislon were working on The Rentals, and even though they achieved some minor fame, I still don't feel like they were nearly as appreciated as they should have been.
So here's their first album in all it's post-new wave 90s glory for you. It sure is a keeper. I think I was madly in love with that girl, Cherielynn, who plays the moog when I was just a lad.
